Thank You Monty Python: And Now for Something Completely Different

My, it's been two weeks since I've posted anything. I didn't realize that it had been that long. I must admit that getting readjusted to my own reality and discovering my choices for the rest of this existence is a little bit of a chore.

We took an out-of-town two day excursion blowing our diets apart on a foodie trip.

My hat's off to Merry Family Winery in Bidwell, Ohio <http://merryfamilywinery.com/>, who recommended the "Bubble" in Jackson, Ohio at Michael's Ice Cream <https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g50476-d8421516-r294647438-Michael_s_Ice_Cream-Jackson_Ohio.html>.

Of course there was Hillbilly Hot Dog in Lesage, W.V. <http://www.hillbillyhotdogs.com/>

There's Frostop in Huntington with real car hops, and the twirling mug on the roof. Tudor's Biscuits for breakfast, and Backyard Pizza and Raw Bar in downtown Huntington, WV, You can find Backyard at: <https://m.facebook.com/Backyard-Pizza-and-Raw-Bar-332057573529178/>

Of course my body played kick-ass afterwards and I got sick. Not really surprised are you? I'm not and I'm ready to do it again, after a nice cleanse....

So what's helping me cleanse? The Ocarina. What the "f"s an Ocarina. (More on "f" later)  Its a musical instrument that resulted in me being ordered to leave it at home on our little trip (want to guess how that little suggestion worked out). I'm really hooked on this little critter and will probably repeat myself. In a way it reminds me of blowing up a Horta's ass and making music.

I haven't settled on the name for my ceramic Ocarina. I thought I had settled on the name Aoife before I went to sleep, but that one got nixed during the night. I now have two Ocarinas. I have my practice Ocarina that I carry with me when I just want to sing in the middle of a parking lot, or while sitting in the park. I have two different instructional books along with videos that I am using, but there are times I close my eyes and just play. I have no idea where the music will take me, but I enjoy the walk.

The Ocarina is like a boat in a stream, that allows you to move around the edges of sharp rocks without harm.

Of course I like to jump around too and try music that is just way to advanced for me at the moment. Songs from a wonderful musical by Anthony Newley called "Stop the World, I Want to Get Off." (Gonna Build a Mountain or how about For Once in a Lifetime).

Then I get frustrated and it's back to the lesson.

As a parting note remember that "F" stands for a musical note that when combined with others can result in joy and cleansing. (Of course I must admit that telling somebody to "F" off can be pretty cleansing too although it is immature!)

Until the morrow whenever that might be!

  1. The Ocarina can be very soothing. However, any way your create music for yourself can be healing, releasing, and totally fun! Well, coming from a musician's point of voice of course. (word play intended) My instrument of choice these days is the uke. Pretty in purple, I've learned 4 or so chords and yes, F is one of them. Enjoy!
